The ASIS Austin Women in Security (WIS) Self‑Defense Class is a hands‑on, skills‑building event designed to empower professionals across our security community with practical techniques for personal safety and situational awareness. Led by Sarah Rhodes, Director of Training with the Travis County Sheriff’s Office, this session provides participants with real‑world instruction from a seasoned public safety expert.

Hosted at HID Global Headquarters, the program brings together colleagues from across the Central Texas Security Community for an afternoon of learning, networking, and confidence‑building. Attendees will practice foundational self‑defense movements, explore strategies for recognizing and avoiding threats, and strengthen their ability to respond effectively under pressure.

This event reflects ASIS Austin’s commitment to supporting women in the security profession through meaningful training, community engagement, and professional development.  This session offers a valuable opportunity to build skills, connect with peers, and reinforce personal safety.

➡️A networking Happy Hour at Little Woodrow’s Tech Ridge will immediately follow the class—open to all participants.
